There’s beauty and movement in this season—and also weariness, grief, and a collective sense of recalibration. I’ve been thinking about the quiet leaders—those tending to the everyday storms, adjusting with intention, and doing the steady, often unseen work of creating change that lasts. These are the people I’m drawn to, the ones I love to serve, and the ones who remind me that leadership isn't always loud—but it is always felt.

That’s why today I want to share the story of a leader who embodies the kind of grounded, generous power I believe the world needs now:

Marion Clark ~ Riding the Waves of Service

Some people talk about making waves. Marion Clark is the wave.

As the Beach Programs Director for LA Surfbus Foundation, Marion leads with heart and grit. She and her team bring the healing power of surfing and beach culture to youth across Los Angeles—especially those from communities that have long been underserved.

Through mental health programming, community engagement, and deeply intentional access work, Marion is creating a ripple effect that changes lives from the inside out.

And when the recent LA fires disrupted lives and polluted coastal waters, she didn't back down. She rose.

Donation drives. Mental health outreach. Real-time safety communication. Marion mobilized her community like only a true leader can.

As a longtime client and someone I deeply admire, I want to lift her up. If you feel moved to support grassroots, real-world impact, consider donating to LA Surfbus Foundation:

A Practice for This Season of Growth

In the work I do with leaders—executives, creatives, and changemakers—one of the most powerful shifts we explore is how to relate to ourselves when the ground is shifting.

This isn’t just about productivity or performance. It’s about leadership from the inside out.

Said another way: How we relate to the issue is the issue.

Because when you lead a business, a family, or a vision that asks everything of you—you can’t just push through. You have to pause, notice, and reconnect to what steadies you.

Sometimes, the most powerful leadership move is to simply breathe.

Here’s a short practice you can use anytime you need to reset:

3-Minute Alternate Nostril Breathing Practice

Why: This ancient breath practice helps calm the nervous system, balance the hemispheres of the brain, and restore clarity.

How:

  1. Sit comfortably, spine tall, shoulders relaxed.

  2. Use your right thumb to close your right nostril. Inhale slowly through the left nostril.

  3. Close the left nostril with your ring finger. Release the thumb from the right nostril and exhale through the right.

  4. Inhale through the right nostril. Close it with your thumb. Release the left nostril and exhale through the left.

  5. That completes one round. Repeat for 3 minutes, moving slowly and with ease.

Notice what shifts. Often, just 180 seconds of presence is enough to return to center.

The Deeper Value of This Work 💛

In every coaching conversation, retreat, and leadership circle I hold, we acknowledge one core truth:

No amount of money can buy the kind of life you’re building when you lead from the inside out.

The leaders I work with don’t just want success—they want a life and career rooted in authenticity, resilience, and sustainable well-being.

Together, we:

  • Reconnect to purpose and self-trust.

  • Lead sustainably, with systems that support growth without burnout.

  • Build resilient relationships rooted in honesty and clarity.

  • Release limiting beliefs that quietly sabotage success.

  • Create a legacy of balance and grace that touches every corner of life.

This is the kind of success that can’t be measured in dollars—but in the quality of your breath, your relationships, your clarity, and your joy.

Take a moment to ask yourself: What part of me is asking for a gentler pace right now? Let that part have your attention today, even just for a few breaths.

If this resonates, or you’re craving more support, I’d love to hear what’s stirring in you this season.

With steady breath and heart,

Terra Ann
